These sessions are ideal if you:

• new Pegasus XRL users or beginner users that need a refresher 
• already use Pegasus XRL and want to get more from it (faster builds, cleaner outputs, better insight),
• need to improve reporting accuracy and reduce manual spreadsheet work,
• want to use XRL’s tools (Wizards, Report Designer, Drilldown/Dashboards) more confidently and effectively.

Prerequisite: Pegasus XRL must be installed with access to data on the training machine.

To make this training practical (and not just theoretical), Alex will guide attendees through exercises using live reporting examples.

Please ensure, before the workshop:

• Pegasus XRL is installed on the machine you’ll be using.
• You have working access to your Opera data/company (so you can run live reports during the session)

A structured beginner session on core concepts, plus the building blocks that make reporting quicker and more reliable:

• Best-practice approach to building and maintaining XRL reports
• Understanding the four XRL report types
• Query Wizard to create bespoke reports quickly in plain English

Workshop 2 — Thursday 9 July 2026 (10:00am–1:00pm)
UDOs, Macros, Data Selectors & Data Structures (a popular power session)

If you want to produce smarter outputs and save time, this is the session that tends to deliver the biggest “aha!” moments:

• User Defined Output fields (UDOs) - create your own custom fields/formulas
• Macros: Automate worksheet processes and speed up repetive reporting tasks
• Data selectors: control and filter what’s returned with confidence
• Understanding Data Structures (so you pull the right data first time)

Report Designer + Tips & Tricks

Make reports that look right, behave properly, and are easier to maintain:

• Report Designer overview and practical layout guidance
• Layout, data grouping, usability and maintainability tips
• Practical shortcuts and "avoid the pain" guidance
• Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
• Prerequisite: Attendees must already be familiar with Pegasus XRL and its core functionality
